Youth Jobs

The state funds a few programs that help provide job opportunities for teenagers, two of which are administered by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education: Connecting Activities and Youth-Build Grants. These programs help ease the transition from high school to college or career, with students participating in these programs after school, during the summer, or as a comprehensive alternative to traditional high school (as in the case of Youth-Build). Most often these programs combine job training with supplemental academic support.

Please see the Children's Budget common thread Youth Engagement Programs for youth job programs funded across all state agencies.
