Violence Treatment & Prevention

Violence Treatment & Prevention programs include a variety of initiatives designed to prevent violent activity before it starts, and that provide services to victims of violence. A number of these programs focus on promoting the healthy development of children and supporting the communities in which they live, while other programs work to prevent and treat domestic and sexual violence.

This area includes three programs that provide grants for community-based violence prevention activities, as well as a separate Youth-at-Risk Matching Grants program that funds activities at Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and other non-profits. Other programs support activities to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault and to provide medical care and supportive services to victims of sexual assault and abuse, including children and adolescents.
